MONTCLAIR, NJ – As part of the “Music in Our Schools Month” celebration of March, 2013, the National Music Council (NMC) and the Music Publishers Association of the United States (MPA) have announced the release of a new, innovative education tool for primary school students designed to teach respect and admiration for creators, inventors and their works.

David O. Carson, the General Counsel of the US Copyright Office, is joining international recorded music industry association IFPI as head of global legal policy. He will report to chief executive Frances Moore and help coordinate the organisation’s outreach to policymakers worldwide. Carson will join IFPI on 24 September.

Created in 2010, the annual scholarship program aims to get students excited about intellectual property and encourages those students to educate their peers on the value of copyright.
